Domestic worker hides as robbers ransack Rant en Dal house

A domestic worker locked herself in the main bedroom in safety as robbers ransacked a house in Rant-en-Dal. Criminals even helped themselves to liquor during the house robbery.

Two houses were targeted within three days in Noordheuwel and Rant-en-Dal respectively according to Mapogo A Mathamaga Security in Krugersdorp.

“We are appealing to residents to be on the alert as crime remains rife in some parts of Krugersdorp,” warned the security company’s operations manager, Danie Vermeulen.

He explained the first incident occurred bright and early, at about 05:38 on July 19 and involved a housebreaking and theft in Fisk Road, Noordheuwel.

“Robbers gained entry onto the premises by climbing over the palisade parameter fence. They then proceeded to force open a glass sliding door. Handbags, wallets, and one bicycle were stolen,” said Vermeulen.

Three days later, on July 21 at about noon, Vermeulen said they responded to a house robbery in Hawk Street, Rant-en-Dal.

“Robbers forced open a gate, security, and front wooden door to gain entry. The domestic worker locked herself in the main bedroom where the robbers proceeded to ransack the house, stealing three TVs, two laptops, one set of earphones, one DVR, and bottles of liquor.”
