uManyano continues to fight for women’s rights

Women empowerment was encouraged by the Krugersdorp Methodist Church's Women's Prayer and Service Union.

The Krugersdorp Methodist Church celebrates Women’s Month by highlighting how the women of uManyano continue to play a role in the community. They also hope to create more opportunities for women empowerment.

uManyano is the Methodist Women’s Prayer and Service Union for which women, with full membership of the Methodist Church of Southern Africa, are eligible for membership in the organisation.

In South Africa, there are 62 000 members who are all committed to fulfilling the common vision of the organisation which deals with the scourge of women and child abuse.

An event was hosted to raise awareness for women’s rights as well as raise funds to help the organisation engage in more community outreach projects. The event saw women dressed up in beautiful and extravagant Xhosa attire as the organisation reflects on the role in which they play in their communities.

Speakers from the organisation enchanted attendees as they also performed live African poetry on stage leaving the audience in awe.
