Robbers armed with knife target K’dp North home

Three criminals have been arrested in two separate incidents in Krugersdorp recently.

Two robbers, one of them armed with a knife, were arrested after first breaking into a home and then attempting to steal copper pipes and other electronics in Viljoen Street, Krugersdorp North.

According to Mapogo A Mathamaga Security operations manager, Danie Vermeulen, they responded to the incident of housebreaking and theft at about 23:21 on August 28.

“The alleged robbers gained entry by lifting the main gate off the rail. They then went on to force open an outside storeroom door and attempted to steal copper pipes and electronic items. Our armed reaction officers entered the property and managed to arrest the two robbers of which one was armed with a knife.”

Vermeulen said they also responded to another incident, this time involving theft in Condale Road, Krugersdorp on September 3.

“At about 13:49, a robber gained entry by cutting through the wire perimeter and attempting to steal copper wiring. He too would be arrested by security on site and was handed over to police.”
