Mom accused of decapitating 2-year-old toddler
A woman who wanted to be a sangoma was arrested for killing her child.
The Tshepisong community is reeling in shock after a woman was arrested for allegedly decapitating her two-year-old toddler.
According to a statement from Constable Kholo of the Johannesburg Central Police, the woman arrived in Tshepisong to enroll in a sangoma school on August 28.
She brought her two-year-old child with her and she started her training. She then asked someone who was enrolled with her to take a parcel to the ’emboma’ church. The head sangoma later went into the church to pray where he found the parcel.
When he opened the parcel, he found the deceased two-year-old girl inside. Kholo said many angry community members were on the scene and confronted the woman, after which she admitted to killing her child.
She was later arrested and tried to harm herself inside the cells. After being taken to hospital she was admitted for psychosis and the case was postponed to September 27.
According to information received by the Krugersdorp News, the woman had allegedly decapitated the young girl.
