Church spoils matriculants to a glitzy farewell
The Volle Evangelie Kerk of God spoiled and inspired matrics ahead of the crunch exams.
The Volle Evangelie Kerk of God ensured that matriculants across Krugersdorp would experience a memorable evening by organising a matric farewell.
The matric farewell was open to most schools in Mogale City and those who took part included Kingswood Academy, HTS Nic Diederichs THS, Jan De Klerk High School, Ntswane High School, Westcol College and Bokamoso Secondary School. The theme of the matric farewell was Solutionaries.

Pastor Tona Moroke explained the importance of the theme and how it will benefit learners.
“The matric farewell comes from our heart. As a church, we need to invest in young people of the future. Mogale City statistics show that 35% of young people complete matric but only 9% obtain tertiary qualifications in our region. Therefore, we called the matric farewell theme ‘Solutionaries’ because we are faced with educational, social, health, and community problems that need leaders who can provide solutions.

“The aim is to create problem solvers known as Solutionaries among the youth. Solutionaries teach youngsters to identify problems in their lives, schools, and communities and invite them to participate and explore transformative solutions. We look forward to the journey with them in their tertiary studies until they become professionals that can provide solutions to our broken world,” Moroke said.

The church hopes to make it better for years to come.
“We are planning to go bigger next year to accommodate more learners from more schools and all social backgrounds,” Moroke concluded.
