Veld fire breaks out at Bob van Reenen

Bob van Reenen Stadium is not on fire, despite circulating rumours. However, emergency services confirmed the grass surrounding Bob was on fire.

According to Mogale City’s Emergency Services Regional Station Commander Gerhard Nieuwoudt, it is only a veld fire around the stadium, not the stadium itself burning.

“It is every year’s story that the grass catches fire there. There is nothing else that can burn there,” he added.

As the Krugersdorp News visited the site, flames could be seen around the stadium, but nothing else, besides debris and other random objects was on fire.
