Munsieville teen stars in Showmax series

A youngster from Munsieville has landed a big role to boost his acting career.

Karabo Justice Molebatsi has landed a big role in the new and highly acclaimed Showmax series 016 FM which premiered on June 26.

Karabo, a learner at Thuto Lefa Secondary School in Munsievillle, plays the role of Diego on the show.

Karabo describes Diego as a humble boy, who is inspired by DJ Whisky and wishes to be like him. The role of DJ Whiskey is played by the late Mpho Sebeng who sadly passed away in May. This was his last role.

“I was excited when I found out that I got the role and I learned from working with more experienced actors and directors that being humble is everything, keep learning from other creatives, and you will grow and become the best,” Karabo shared.

He went on to highlight that for him to manage a balance between his schoolwork and career, he makes time for schoolwork and rehearsals.

“I was shooting in the Vaal, I had to wake up by 03:00 and I went to sleep by 23:00. I had to stay focused so I could overcome any negativity I was facing,” Karabo elaborated when asked if he faced any challenges while working on the series.

According to Karabo, he is now more comfortable being on set, and in front of the camera and aspires to become more versatile in his acting roles.

Karabo concluded viewers should expect an exciting drama and rivals from the series and will learn how to win their battles fairly.
