Initiative for a safer community and strong bonds

Strong bonds and making the community safer is the priority in a new initiative started by BCI Security.

Public safety stakeholders, law enforcement and BCI Security continue to give first responders recognition for their hard work through an initiative that intends to build bonds and make the community a safer place.

According to the CEO of BCI Security, Johnny Loots, the initiative was originally started after a group called the Civilian Crime Intelligence Network’s (CCIN) sole purpose was uniting private and public law enforcement to work together and bring safety to the community more efficiently.

CCIN is a collaborative initiative that has been operational for 12 years, founded and mediated by Reza Patal.

“The CCIN West Group is a vital component of a network, bringing together various stakeholders to combat crime effectively,” Loots said.

He added, “I was skeptical at first, however, I now think it’s an awesome initiative, we all have one objective, and that is serving the community, private security or public safety we all risk our lives to benefit people.”

The CCIN West Rand Group comprise a diverse range of members, including:

• Security companies
• Law enforcement agencies (police, JMPD)
• Emergency services (Netcare 911 and the fire department)
• Community policing forums (CPF) patrollers
• AfriForum

Elmien Parker, who works for Absolut Security, received a Certificate of Excellence for Service award for her work. Parker has been working in the company for five years and enjoys making a difference, one day at a time.

According to Loots, despite having to work with Parker’s competitors, she expressed that at the end of the day, it’s all about making a difference in the community and ensuring safety.
