Rotary Anns gather for annual conference

Over 80 Rotary Anns from various districts met in Krugersdorp for an annual conference.

The Anns’ Conference hosted by the Krugersdorp Rotary Anns Club was described as fun and successful as many members made their way to the Golden Age Village in Wentworth Park recently.

According to Krugersdorp Rotary Anns Club secretary Julia du Plessis, the aim was to celebrate and acknowledge the role that the Rotary Anns play in improving their community and making a difference in society.

“The Rotary Anns are an extension of the Rotary Club, working alongside this remarkable organisation.

The Anns engage in various fundraising efforts and dedicate their time and hard work to improving the lives of the underprivileged and supporting a wide range of charitable causes to uplift the community,” Julia said.

The Rotary Anns of District 9 400 has a conference once a year where the Anns from all the clubs get together for an awards ceremony where the District Governor Ann honours clubs and individuals with trophies and certificates for achievement.

“It is also a morning of fellowship and sharing of ideas for fundraising.”

A guest speaker and entertainment are also organised.

The Hoërskool Monument Interact Club assisted at the conference. They are Tshireletso Molokela, Damen Pienaar, Nadiya Teixeira, Aidan da Costa and Ndlalo Seema.

A different club hosts the conference every year and this year, the Krugersdorp Anns were once again the hosts and 85 Anns from various clubs attended.

District 9 400 includes clubs from Gauteng, Mozambique, Swaziland, Middelburg, Pietersburg, White River and beyond.

The theme for the year was ‘The Magic of Rotary’ and was carried out at the conference.

“The hall looked beautiful and the event was enjoyed by all.”
