Big blow for NPO after delivery truck crash
After their delivery truck was written off in a crash, the Cradle of Hope needs donations to continue serving 2 000 beneficiaries.
Last week, the Cradle of Hope, a non-profit organisation, suffered a devastating blow after its delivery truck was involved in a crash and subsequently written off.
CEO Melodie van Brakel said the vehicle was donated to them 17 years ago and it is insured for R71 000.
“It is impossible to replace it with this insured amount.
This is a massive blow to us as an organisation as this vehicle is imperative for the work that we do serving more than 2 000 beneficiaries every day among our 15 active programmes,” she explained.
She continued to say that with the truck being written off, they are currently not able to collect much-needed donations.
“We have received many calls and emails for much needed clothing, furniture and food items to be collected from donors and we are just not able to do so. We sincerely apologise to those donors who are now angry and irritated with us. We, however, would like to thank all of our amazing donors and followers for your patience, understanding and heartfelt prayers at this troubled time,” Melodie concluded.
