West Rand EMS responds after vehicle catches fire

After a vehicle caught fire this morning, April 1, West Rand Emergency Services’ regional commander, Gerhard Nieuwoudt, provided an official response.

He confirmed that they received the call at around 08:21 regarding a vehicle fire.

He added that one light vehicle was ablaze when they arrived at the scene, and fortunately, there were no fatalities or injuries.

“Traffic was a major issue, and we had to close the entire R28 towards Krugersdorp without assistance from the traffic department; however, the scene was cleared by 09:00, and everything worked out well in the end,” he concluded.
