UniCollege students take a bold and colourful stand against cancer

UniCollege in Krugersdorp once again did its part for charity, this time by hosting a Cansa Shavathon in which more than 100 students participated.

UniCollege students once again rallied in the name of charity, this time in support of the Cancer Association of South Africa’s (Cansa) annual Shavathon fundraiser.

With around 100 students participating, the event raised an impressive R3 250 to aid Cansa’s vital work in cancer research, patient care and education.

According to campus manager Jackie Loots, this year marks the 12th consecutive year that UniCollege hosted the Shavathon, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to making a difference.

Students embraced the cause by shaving or spraying their hair in solidarity with those affected by cancer, turning the campus into a hub of colour, compassion, and community spirit.

“The Cansa Shavathon is a tradition we are incredibly proud of,” Jackie said.

She added, “Each year, our students step up to show their support, and it’s inspiring to see their enthusiasm for such an important cause. UniCollege thanks all participants and donors for their generosity and encourages continued support for Cansa’s mission.”
