The ultimate matric farewell expo showcased talents and style
Emerging designers make a lasting impression at matric farewell expo.
With over three years of experience in fashion, Juanpierre Battiss (29) has made a name for himself by empowering designers to showcase their creative sides.
On May 10, Juanpierre hosted a Matric Farewell Expo at Cowboy Town, which provided matric learners with resources, ideas and services they require to feel confident and excited for their matric farewell.
It was fulfilling to create a platform that supports local businesses and makes a difference in the lives of future leaders,” said Juanpierre.
Oxygen Models contributed by providing models, and it was a great opportunity for them to gain experience and grow their confidence. There were designers such as Style Perfect, Maison De Megan, White Rose Bridal Boutique, Barreto Bridalwear, House of Shelly-Anne, Dream Bride, Hollywood Costumes and Heidi Couture.

From dresses, suits, hair and makeup, to car hire, photographers, and accessories. The goal of the expo was to bring all the best vendors under one roof and promote the event widely to schools and the public.
Juanpierre hopes the event met the expectations of the matriculants and other attendees.
We put ourselves in the shoes of the matriculants, we listened to what they wanted, stayed on top of the latest trends, and made sure the expo was not just functional but also fun,” said Juanpierre.
He mentioned he will cherish the memories from hosting this event.
“The joy on the faces of the matriculants as they found their dream dress, booked their perfect car, or simply enjoyed the day with friends and family will stay with me,” he concluded.
Louise van Graan, a designer from White Rose Bridal Boutique, explained the role which the event played for her boutique.
“We advertised our matric dresses and showcased what we can offer this year. The event helped us to learn and share ideas with other designers,” said Louise.

Faraa Mahomed, from FM Collections, mention how they are working on building young men to become urban gentlemen.
“I’m here to inspire boys into becoming urban gentlemen with jewellery, matric suit and lifestyle grooming jewellery,” said Faraa.
Elmarie Nolte, from Oxygen Models, said that her models contributed to the success of the event.
“Their energy, commitment, and positivity uplifted the entire show. Seeing their families and friends in the crowd, cheering them on, added so much to the atmosphere. It created a truly special vibe.”
