After the flames: EMS releases fire report
Emergency services struggled to reach the scene due to narrow access paths, but fortunately, no lives were lost in the devastating shack fire, according to the report.
After a mother and her three children lost their shack to a fire, West Rand Emergency Medical Services gave an official response.

According to regional commander Gerhard Nieuwoudt, they received the call at about 12:40 on May 20.
He said, fortunately, there were no deaths or injuries, however, the shack burned down.
The only challenge we faced was that there was no space for the fire engine to enter the Video informal settlement, but in the end, everything worked well to extinguish the blaze,” he concluded.
