Join the Salvation Army’s outreach for the needy

The Salvation Army will host a community outreach event on June 7 to provide meals for the less fortunate. A list of items needed to help make a difference was also revealed.

Winter is here, and many of the community’s homeless will bear the brunt of its cruelty.

The Salvation Army appeals to the community for help as they will soon begin their outreach. However, they require supplies to make soup and bread to distribute to Krugersdorp’s most vulnerable.

According to organiser Billy Kemp, the organisation intends to start their first outreach for the season at 17:00 on Saturday, 7 June.

They will be serving in the centre of Krugersdorp CBD at the Tower of Life and would appreciate it if the community could bring:

• Vegetables
• Potatoes, onions, carrots, parsley, celery
• Beans
• Kidney beans, split beans, lentils and Imbo soup mix
• Packets of soup
• Minestrone, chicken, beef and onion and soya mince
• Loaves of bread would also be appreciated

Donors can deliver goods to the organisation situated on Ben Barnard Street, Dan Pienaarville, ahead of the big day. For more information on how you can assist, contact Billy on 061 187 4353.
