R100k donation fuels hope for new delivery truck

With a R100 000 donation and meal sponsorship, IWISA’s campaign is helping the Cradle of Hope continue its feeding programme and cover critical logistics costs following a recent truck crash.

After its launch in December last year, IWISA’s No.1 Fills Good campaign has concluded, and the Cradle of Hope (COH) received a major cash injection.

Cat Craig, marketer at COH, revealed they received the funds, which were raised when you bought an IWISA product at President Hyper and a percentage of the sales was donated towards the campaign, on July 2.

COH will use the funds towards a new delivery truck since their truck was written off in a crash in March.

Founder of COH, Melodie van Brakel, said their team goes into spaces where others won’t go daily, and dependable transport is critical to their work.

“We have a weekly feeding programme, and on the day of the cheque handover, they [IWISA] sponsored the meals, including a chicken and vegetable soup,” she added.

She continued, 500 mouths were fed, including homeless and impoverished families.

“We are humbled by the way this region has stood behind us. From every shared story to every purchased pack of the products, you’ve helped us carry this load,” Melodie concluded.
