Fire-ravaged Die Herberg Hotel declared unsafe for use
Following the October 13 fire, officials have declared the historic hotel unsafe for use due to extensive structural damage. Repairs and debris removal have been mandated.
Following the fire that swept through Die Herberg Hotel on October 13, Councillor Mark Trump informed the Krugersdorp News that the building may no longer be used.
He said that on October 14, municipal officials found that after the building was semi-destroyed following the blaze, it posed a risk to people and property. Trump added that this came after an inspection, which showed there was structural damage and decay.
