Organisation cancels fundraiser, launches campaign to help abused children

Royal Family Kids Camp Mogale cancels November fundraiser but launches Back-a-Buddy campaign to support abused children.

The Royal Family Kids Camp Mogale (RFKCM) has announced that it will no longer host its fundraiser event on November 22 due to low ticket sales and expected attendance.

According to organiser Johan Pottas, the event was to include a performance by gospel singer Cathy Viljoen, with refreshments and snacks for attendees. All proceeds were intended to sponsor a camp for the children and cover their needs.

Despite the event being cancelled, Pottas confirmed that RFKCM has launched a Back-a-Buddy campaign to rally support for building the camp.

“As volunteers, we want to show the children that there is hope and that they are unique and special. We are trying to make a change in their lives,” he added.

The organisation takes children to a camp once a year for a week to show them that people still care and to make a positive impact on their lives. They also provide small gifts, toiletries, and school stationery to show the children that they are valued.
