Silverstar donates R80 000 to support Cansa survivors

Silverstar’s Power of Pink brings awareness, support and an R80 000 boost for Cansa.

Silverstar recently celebrated its Power of Pink initiative, aimed at raising awareness and funds for people affected by cancer.

The charitable gaming promotion offered a share of R100 000 in cash prizes, with a portion of the proceeds going to the Cancer Association of South Africa (Cansa).

According to Silverstar’s communication manager Chanelle Wilmot, Power of Pink is a fundraising campaign that supports breast cancer survivors and highlights the psychological symbolism of the colour pink.

“The campaign is a collaboration between Cansa and Silverstar, raising funds to provide silicone prostheses to low-income survivors. More broadly, it draws attention to the colour’s association with self-love, femininity and calmness,” she said.

Ester Pretorius, who represented Cansa on the evening, told the Krugersdorp News that the organisation is committed to connecting people facing cancer with practical information, day-to-day assistance and emotional support within their own communities.

“We aim to ensure that cancer survivors and their loved ones don’t have to face cancer alone; we’re here to support them through every step of their cancer journey,” she said.

Silverstar proudly donated R80 000 to Cansa West Rand to support the organisation’s ongoing commitment to helping those in need.
