Noah’s Ark spreads festive cheer to the community

Noah’s Ark in Burgershoop brought smiles this festive season, handing out toys, food parcels and hope to children and families in need.

A local organisation got into the festive spirit by reaching out to the less fortunate, donating over 150 toys and parcels.

Noah’s Ark, based in Burgershoop, ensured that children and other vulnerable members of the community were not left behind this festive season.

According to the founder, Frans van der Berg, this marks the fourth consecutive year they have run a Christmas toy and food parcel drive, distributing gifts for children and food parcels for the elderly and families.

“We drive around and hand out wherever we see a need,” Frans said.

Noah’s Ark also runs several year-round community projects, including:

• Take a Bite out of Hunger – weekly food parcels for needy families
• Hope Lunchbox – packing school lunches for children, often the only meal they receive
• Pen to Success – collecting stationery and school supplies for children whose parents cannot afford them

Frans further emphasised the importance of these initiatives in supporting the community and ensuring children and families are cared for throughout the year.
