Regional and district hospitals together recorded 100 births, and community health centres (CHCs) contributed 36 deliveries.

Gauteng Health MEC Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko, accompanied by Leratong Hospital CEO Dr Dieketseng Moloi, handed out gift hampers to new mothers. During the visit, mothers also received pre-loved baby items donated by the Future4Baby organisation to assist families in caring for their newborns.

“The birth of these babies symbolises hope and new beginnings and highlights the importance of quality maternal and newborn care in supporting the development of healthy children,” said Nkomo-Ralehoko.
