Millies and LifeLine hosts anti-bullying awareness talk
Laerskool Millennium learners received guidance from LifeLine on the different forms of bullying, how to protect themselves, and how to respond in situations.
Laerskool Millennium Primary recently hosted an informative awareness session on bullying for its Grade Six learners.
According to the school’s Grade Five disciplinary head, Christiaan Pienaar, representatives from LifeLine – an organisation that offers mental and emotional health services – visited the school on May 11 to engage with the learners about bullying and its impact within the school environment.
“The learners were informed about the various forms of bullying that can take place at school and at home. They also educated our learners on different practices they can implement to safeguard themselves against bullying, as well as how to cope in situations where they feel vulnerable or where their integrity may be at risk,” Christiaan said.

School principal Billy da Silva emphasised that the school takes bullying seriously and maintains a firm stance against any form of misconduct that infringes on the rights and well-being of learners and staff members.
“We follow a strict anti-bullying policy. We do not tolerate any infringements on the human rights of our learners and staff members. We work in close coordination with our parents to safeguard our learners from harm, whatever sort it may be,” he said.
He concluded that the school continues to uphold Christian norms and values, with both learners and teachers striving to preserve dignity, integrity and respect towards others within the school environment and the broader community.
