Cyclist killed at busy intersection

The fatal crash occurred at the intersection near a shopping centre on Wednesday afternoon.

An elderly man died after being struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle at the intersection of Voortrekker Road and Paardekraal Drive on May 27.

The Krugersdorp News is currently on scene, where motorists can expect delays due to a partial road closure.

According to tow truck responder Paul Viljoen, the crash occurred at about 14:00 when the cyclist was crossing the road and was struck by a vehicle.

Public Safety officials are regulating traffic at the intersection.
