Jubileum Dagsorg appeals for community support to improve facilities

The long-standing early childhood development centre is calling on the community to help improve its facilities and support future generations of learners.

For more than 70 years, Jubileum Dagsorg has played an important role in caring for and educating children in the community. The centre is now appealing to residents and businesses to assist with a project aimed at improving its facilities for future generations of learners.

According to principal Janine Foord, the daycare forms part of the long-established Suid-Afrikaanse Vrouefederasie (SAVF) structure in the area and has been serving the local community for nearly seven decades.

The centre remains a registered early childhood development (ECD) facility and continues to play a vital role in supporting working families and preparing young children for formal schooling.

A classroom refurbishment initiative, centred on a “Busy Bee” learning environment, has become more than just a facility upgrade. The project has also highlighted the importance of community involvement, visibility and the long-term sustainability of ECD centres.

One classroom has already been refurbished, with additional phases planned. However, Janine said further progress will depend on support from the community.

“The most valuable support the community can offer is increased awareness of Jubileum and the services it provides to families in Krugersdorp. With capacity available, we welcome more local families to consider enrolling their children,” she said.

Community members can support the project through financial donations, educational resources, maintenance assistance or by helping raise awareness of the centre’s role in ECD.

Those interested in contributing to the project can contact Janine on 067 008 0125.
