Munsieville rapper builds following of more than 10 000 fans
Pvanther says his growing online audience is helping him inspire young people and share messages of hope through music.
Munsieville rapper Tshireletso Nthibogelang, known professionally as Pvanther, is growing his online following with the aim of inspiring young people beyond the West Rand.
According to Tshireletso, he has built an audience of more than 10 000 followers across social media platforms since beginning his musical journey. His passion for music began when his uncle introduced him to hip-hop. Initially, he rewrote and performed songs by artists he admired before eventually writing his own lyrics.
“I have been producing music for more than a decade and have developed into a versatile artist who creates music across genres such as hip-hop and amapiano,” he said.
According to Tshireletso, his latest single, Jabulile, released in April, has attracted more than 3 000 streams on Spotify. He added that his YouTube channel has grown to more than 650 subscribers and accumulated over 10 000 views despite having fewer than 20 videos uploaded.
One of his ambitions is to perform at the Made in Mogale festival, a platform that showcases both established and emerging local talent.
“While streaming numbers are exciting, my greatest achievement is hearing young people tell me that my music inspires them and that they relate to the messages I share. Knowing that my music positively impacts others is the most rewarding part of being an artist,” he said.
Tshireletso believes music can help young people find their voice and develop a sense of belonging, particularly in communities where opportunities and resources are limited.
His long-term vision is to create opportunities for aspiring artists and provide a platform where young people feel seen, heard and supported.
