Driver escapes serious injury after truck overturns on M5

Emergency responders attended the scene after a truck allegedly jackknifed due to overloading and overturned, leaving the driver with only minor injuries.

A truck jackknifed and overturned on the M5 (Beyers Naudé) in Muldersdrift on the evening of July 28.

The incident occurred at about 19:35.

According to Guardmax Protection Services sales manager Garrie van Rooyen, no serious injuries were reported when emergency responders arrived on the scene.

Van Rooyen said the truck jackknifed due to being overloaded before overturning. The driver sustained only minor injuries.
