Gr 1s explore, play, and make friends at Alma Mater

Alma Mater International School’s Grade Ones of 2026 began their school adventure with smiles, games and big dreams.

Alma Mater International School in Krugersdorp welcomed its newest faces to begin the first chapter of their 12-year school adventure.

Many proud parents were delighted to see how well-adjusted their children were, already making friends and exploring their new environment.

According to Dumisa Mathabathe, his child has always been an extrovert and couldn’t wait to start school.

“He was buzzing with excitement – his first day of school couldn’t come soon enough,” he said.

“I want to be a firefighter one day, and I can’t wait to enjoy after-school activities like football and arts and crafts.”

The little learners spent the day enjoying arts, games, and playtime with their classmates. Meanwhile, parents were given a brief tour of the school premises, getting a glimpse of what would be their children’s new home for the years ahead.
