Record donations flow from Curro Krugersdorp to Mpumalanga

Curro Krugersdorp and the West Rand community united in a record-breaking charitable drive to support Mpumalanga families affected by floods.

What began as a simple challenge on Jacaranda FM turned into a record-breaking charitable drive, uniting the Curro Krugersdorp family and the greater West Rand community for an important cause.

Inspired by a call to action from Trinityhouse Little Falls, the school community responded generously to support families affected by the devastating floods in Mpumalanga.

According to Curro’s marketer, Dibuseng Maboya, Curro Krugersdorp collected the largest volume of relief goods in its history.

She added that donations included bottled water, non-perishable food, clothing, shoes, blankets, hygiene packs and essential household items, contributed by parents, learners, staff, and community members determined to make a meaningful difference.

Head of Primary School Harry Bateman expressed immense pride and gratitude.

“Amazing things happen when we come together. This initiative showed the true heart of our Curro Krugersdorp family and the wider West Rand community. Together, we achieved something remarkable,” he said.

The donated goods were delivered to Trinityhouse Little Falls on the same day as Curro Krugersdorp’s Interhouse Athletics event, adding a powerful sense of shared purpose to a day already filled with school spirit and community pride.

Harry concluded, “We are truly grateful for each contribution. What started as a challenge on Jacaranda FM has become a historic show of unity, generosity, and compassion. This extraordinary relief effort has strengthened the spirit of collaboration within the West Rand and reaffirmed Curro Krugersdorp’s commitment to community upliftment, empathy and service.”
