St Ursula’s market blends fun with history
Locals enjoyed a day of sport and local history as an architectural exhibition made its debut.
St Ursula’s School in Monument recently hosted a Country Yard Market on its premises on September 5, featuring action from the school’s netball team and a museum exhibition for visitors.
Principal Diane Granger said the market was an opportunity for the school to bring the community together and celebrate its rich history and traditions.

Among the activities was the opening of the Dr Dennis Mario Baldocchi exhibition. Organised in collaboration with the Krugersdorp Heritage Association, the exhibition is one of the organisation’s first major projects aimed at preserving, documenting and promoting the history and heritage of Krugersdorp.

The showcase highlighted architectural landmarks designed by Dr Baldocchi, including the Market Hall and Paul Kruger Hall.
Many of these structures continue to serve the community nearly a century after they were built, standing as lasting reminders of an era when public architecture was designed to inspire as well as endure.
