Years ago I had a good friend who worked at Radio Pulpit.
Sadly she went through a divorce, leaving her to raise a little girl alone. Mom and daughter shared the same bed in mom’s bedroom for a number of years. One day the mommy told her daughter, “My baby, you are big now so you must move to your own bed in your own bedroom”.
The little girl did not like the suggestion and said, “Mommy, I don’t want to be alone, I am scared.” The mom’s response was, “You won’t be alone, Jesus is with you”. The little girl’s reply has been with me for 30 years, “Mommy, I need someone with skin”.
It is very comforting to know that God is with us, but it is so nice to have someone you can touch.
That is why God, in His wisdom, sends people like you and me to be His hand extended, reaching out, touching, healing, holding a broken heart.
Many people have no one to help them. It is my prayer that God will send someone to you today, just to care for you and just maybe He will send you tomorrow to be His hand extended to touch someone else.
Everybody needs compassion, everybody needs love.
