Our struggle heroes have fought hard for the liberation of our country. These selfless leaders laid down their precious lives to free the oppressed masses from the chains of apartheid. Today we live in what we call a democratic society.
That said, the era of selfless leadership is gone. Self interest is what motivates people to join politics today.
Politicians build their own castles at the expense of the poor. In essence political leaders are there to be served, and not to serve. That’s the reality of the situation.
Will the Commander-in-Chief Julius Malema lead the nation into economic freedom in our lifetime, as envisaged by his newly formed political party? The answer is a resounding no!
Malema is there to serve his own selfish interest, as he has shown during his tenure as the ANC youth league leader.
South Africans should take full responsibility of their own economic liberation. They should stop pinning their hopes and dreams in the hands of politicians, who have led them down over the past few years. All that politicians want from the poor is their votes.
The masses should liberate themselves from the shackles of poverty and economic slavery.
They should adopt the spirit of entrepreneurship and work as a unit to realise the economic emancipation. The culture of individualism is disempowering.
It is about time that the poor realise that power lies with them, and not with politicians. The masses hold the key in electing the party that will govern them.
And as such, they should hold political leaders accountable. Those who do not deliver should be shown the door.
