Hercules du Preez of Krugersdorp writes:

On 14 May Pali Lehohla, Statistics General of Statistics South Africa (SSA) made on a public news conference know, the population demography.

Our population is now 53 million, which is 1,2 million more than a year ago. This 1,2 million are refugees from all over Africa, specifically from Zimbabwe and Mozambique.

White people which numbered 5,3 million in 1985 are now three million, nine hundred and eighty thousand which means in 28 years 1,4 million whites left South Africa.

Mr Lehohla’s statistics as published the next day in Beeld in May and is as follows:

Whites: 3,98 million (7,5 per cent)

Coloureds: 4,77 million (8,86 per cent)

Indian/ Asian: 1,33 million (2,5 per cent)

Blacks: 42,92 million (81,14 per cent)

This totals 53 million (100 per cent).

Of the almost four million Whites approximately 600 000 live in squatter camps, the 280 white people living in Coronation Park is a drop in the ocean.

For 19 years no white person has been appointed in the Government Service and very few Coloureds and Indians.

Black politicians who say Whites are still rich and Blacks poor are a bit off the track.

Yes there are still millions of poor blacks, but it is a known fact that black elite, those who sit in Parliament and hold senior positions in Government, Commerce and Industry do not give a (tinkers cuss) for needy blacks.

And for those who still whine about Apartheid please take note that after World War 2 (1939-1945) to name just a few cities such as Berlin, Rostock, Dresden which were 90 per cent destroyed, West Germany was in 1955 a world power again.

Germany today has only sixteen cabinet members.

South Africa has 68 cabinet ministers.
