Thank you Dros

Isabella Smal from Witpoortjie writes:

We live in a time when it seems there are not a lot of love and compassion, and least of all, moral standards.

Over this past weekend, on 6 October a few of us stopped at the Dros in Krugersdorp.

We just came from beyond Brits, it was a very hot day and we were rather thirsty. We sat down and had our refreshing drinks. I took my phone out of my bag and put it on the table, so I could hear it when it rings. Being a dark table and a dark phone, no one of us noticed the phone as we got up to leave.

I got home and still did not miss my phone.

My granddaughter later came to my house and told me, “Oh Ouma! You left your phone at the Dros!”

My daughter took me back, and my phone was kept for me in the office! Chenist, our waiter found my phone on the table because my sister was phoning me. He took the phone to the manager, Leon who told my sister where the phone was, so she could let me know!

My phone is not just any phone. I am visually impaired and use this phone every day, as it has an app that reads information to me.

If the phone was lost, it would have been difficult for me to replace it.

Therefore, I decided to write a letter to tell everyone who reads this that there are still good people around, people with good moral standards.

Thank you, thank you very much, Chenist and Leon and to the Dros!
