You can cope with any situation

Pastor Gerrit Mes; from the pulpit.

Allow me to tell you a story you never will believe.

I love swimming, that weightless feeling as you float in the pool. Over the years I have trained myself to be under water with no oxygen tank for 10 minutes. Yes, you read right, it is not a misprint. I can stay under water for 10 minutes. Never, I hear you say. It is the truth. Now for the big question, how do I do it?

It is simple, you can do it also. I can stay under water for 10 minutes because I come up for a breath every 30 seconds.

The reason most of us cannot cope with life is because we don’t take a breath.

Difficult situations at home, at school or at work can be dealt with if you allow yourself time to breath, prayer, reading the Bible, meditation or just a walk in the garden or a nice cup of coffee. To look at spring blossoms and listen to the call of the birds are better than medicine or therapy sessions.

God made a rule to rest one day a week, break this rule and you will overheat.

Mark 6:31, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest”.

You can cope with any situation that life brings you if you take a breath.
