God is good and protects us from harm.
A few years ago I received a desperate call from a mommy in distress. She told me that she was new in town and that her baby of a few months old needed some special milk formula.
Being Gerrit Mes, my heart broke for this mommy and baby.
She gave me her physical address in Krugersdorp. I bought the formula at Pick n Pay and looked for the house. I left the formula in the car to confirm the need. The lady showed me the baby and invited me into her house.
For a reason I didn’t understand I declined the offer and sat on the stoep right on the sidewalk to see what the circumstances were. Satisfied that everything was ok I gave her the formula and left. The next day I contacted the Salvation Army to keep an eye on the family, seeing that they were in Krugersdorp. Now the story has a twist.
The lady at the Salvation Army told me, “Pastor Mes, that house is a brothel.”
God protected me. Imagine if I walked out, big smile on my face.
Nobody would have believed my story. God protects us.
