Everybody is watching you as soon as you say, “I am a Christian” – all eyes will focus on you.
Then people are watching and waiting for you to make a mistake. A four letter word that slips out or company kept with an “undesirable”. Jesus was no exception. They watched his every move, waiting for a mistake.
When they found none, they made up their own stories.
I often wonder what people say about me. I try to walk straight, live right and honour God. But I know people, and I can imagine what people may think about Gerrit Mes.
The problem is that most people who have an opinion about me probably never have met me.
Do I get depressed about these thoughts? No! It is not so important what people think about you or me, the real issue is, what does God think about us?
That is what is so amazing about God, He knows everything about us and He still loves us.
Wouldn’t it be great if Christians were as kind as God in loving others despite their failures?
Stop watching, hoping someone will slip up.
