Blessed New Year to all Krugersdorp news readers. 2013 is history, water under the bridge, spilt milk.
But 2014 is a totally other story.
You cannot change last year but you can influence the events in the new year as they start to unfold.
One thing we learn from history is that we don’t learn from history.
We tend to repeat past mistakes.
John Maxwell once said, “If we keep doing what we have always done, we will keep getting what we have always gotten.”
I want something new, I want a better new year without repeating my mistakes of 2013. The question is how?
It is easy, you need to make some new years resolutions. I know what you are thinking, they don’t last and they don’t work.
I beg to differ. They are essential. But with a new year’s resolution you need a plan of action and lots of monitoring.
The Bible says, a fool starts a building project without first making sure he can finish the project. Put down your new year’s resolutions on paper. Decide on a plan of action. Then keep going back to check on your progress.
You cannot change the things around you but you can stop them from changing you.
The key question is not what does 2014 hold for you, but what do you hold for 2014.
Prayer: “God, I pray, bless this reader’s 2014.”
