On Saturday morning I took my wife for an intimate breakfast, just the two of us.
The smell of freshly grounded coffee mixed with all the good things South Africans love on a breakfast plate.
The sound of people chatting made the morning so special. Imagine my surprise when I asked for the bill, only to be told that some other breakfast patron had paid our bill. We tried to guess who it was but gave up, accepting our surprise blessing.
All of us have experienced a surprise gift, but from a stranger?
Often when gifts are given, the reward is a thanks or some sign of appreciation. We cannot say thank you to the people that spoilt us but we can pass the blessing onto someone else that comes across our path.
Gifts or acts of kindness are real ways of saying thank you to God for all he has done for you and me.
The verse for the week is Mark 9:41, “I tell you the truth, anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name because you belong to Christ, will certainly not loose his reward”.
God sees what is done in secret and rewards acts of kindness.
Next time an opportunity presents itself I must pass on part of all my blessings.
What about you?
