He that is without sin, let him cast the first stone

Pastor Gerrit Mes; from the pulpit.

Who do you think is going to be in heaven one day? All of us, without exception, are self-appointed judges. We look at people and we draw conclusions. Religious people in particular use a rigid set of rules that determine who will go to heaven and who will miss out.

I cannot wait to see the faces of some of my religious friends, as the gates of heaven open for people that most churches would close its doors for. For a peep into the future, consider the following, Jesus forgave a woman caught in the act of adultery.

He mixed with less-desirable elements of society. He once offered eternal life to woman married five times and now just living with a man.

In fact, during one of his no-punches-barred moments he said to people, “Truly I tell you, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you”.

Don’t worry about other people, will you make it?

I think we are all going to be shocked one day by people we were sure would make it that didn’t.

Religion won’t get you into heaven. Be real, be humble, and don’t judge, these are some qualities God respects in us.
