My husband and I went to a local doctor’s rooms in Noordheuwel and arrived for our appointment at 9.15am.
We were finished at about 10.30am and went out to our Chev utility vehicle. On arriving at the Chev we discovered the canopy had been stolen.
What really made both of us very angry is that there is a car guard on duty and she has apparently been there for nine years.
On arrival at the parking, the car guard was in the centre of the parking on the left side of the car park. We greeted her as she asked if she could look after our vehicle. When we discovered the canopy was gone, she told us she never saw anything. To loosen the canopy, which had eight big bolts, from the inside and move it onto another vehicle to take it away, would have taken at least two people.
If she did not see anything after having asked for permission to look after our vehicle, she obviously did not feel it was worth her time as she maintains that she was in the front helping people park.
There was a young woman parked on our left side when we came out. She said the Chev did not have a canopy when she arrived and she had been waiting for 20 minutes.
That means our canopy was taken soon after we arrived. The people who stole the canopy left the bolts and washers lying on the floor of the Chev.
The most annoying thing is that the car guard told the police our Chev did not arrive with a canopy. This is from the woman who was guarding the cars – she did not even observe what the vehicle looked like.
I think this is gross negligence, and taking money from people when you do not know what the vehicle looks like is wrong.
The whole story of her not seeing anything is very suspicious and does not sound right. When going to the mall or anywhere do not feel you have somebody looking out for you.
They are not there for you, they are just waiting for the tip they are working for. This proves you should not trust anybody.
