A chuckle at how things could have been

Willem Swanepoel from Rant-en-Dal writes:

After reading New Homo Naledi fossils coming to the Cradle, which featured in the newspapers a few weeks ago, I could not help laughing while my mind wandered.

What if Prof Lee Berger had not been dragged out of the Lesedi Chamber by ropes tied to his wrists? Maybe 1 000 years from now, someone would discover this human ancestor and even name it Homo Lasediensis (or something like that) and he/ she could cry “Eureka, I found the missing link”! I also could not help wondering what that person would make of his hard hat and LED headlamp. Could make for some interesting speculation.

These paleo-anthropologists are still going to convince me of evolution, not because of their “truly scientific methods” but rather [because of] their ability to reason like monkeys!

At Caxton, we employ humans to generate daily fresh news, not AI intervention. Happy reading!
