Earlier in July, in the late afternoon, I was alerted by a female voice shouting in the street at my gate.
I went out and was accosted by a woman in either pajamas or a baby-gro shouting at me because of my Rottweiler, which was lying peacefully under a tree with a bowl of water, but secured with a walking leash. She said that I must set the dog free and so I asked her to leave my property.
She left and rode around the block. She returned with a cellphone and took pictures and a video clip of my dog. I again told her to go, but while filming she tried to provoke me by asking if I had anything else to say. I responded once more that she should go.
The following morning the SPCA arrived to conduct an inspection. The inspector commented that my dog appeared in good condition and I explained the reason for tying up the dog which was found to be totally acceptable. The dog is a well-cared for, loved and appreciated animal.
This hysterical pajama clad do-gooder believes that she can change the world by shouting without investigation. It appears that she further believes that wasting the time and limited finances of the protection authorities is her right.
I condemn the maltreatment of animals, but an investigation would go a long way rather than throwing a tantrum in public. I do not know who this woman is and really have no desire to know such people either.
