Ban all trade unions

Roy Peattie from Noordheuwel writes:

To stop corruption in South Africa, the government will have to dismiss every corrupt official in public service, state owned enterprises and members of parliament from their own party. But, trade union leaders will never allow this to happen. They are a law unto themselves, are only interested in their own welfare and self-glorification and have no interest in the welfare of their members.

Why call a strike during the festive season which led to their members not receiving December salaries or bonuses, which meant that their families suffered?

Please, no one tell me that it is the members who demand a strike. Trade union leaders say members will strike, and heaven help them and their families if they do not go on strike. I have personal experience of workers being killed for refusing to strike.

Trade unions in South Africa are in a power struggle. NUM versus AMCU is one example, and this is destroying the country’s ability to improve employment and is scaring away investors. Investors want to see a stable government and work force. Protests, marches and strikes prove we do not have a stable workforce, therefore no investment.

Ban all trade unions and the unemployment rate will decrease rapidly, and investors will enter the country.
