Thanks to Sector 3 CPF for saving a man’s life

Stephan Rossouw from Krugersdorp writes:

I’m referring to an incident that took place on Monday, 11 March, on the corner of Market and Adolf Schneider Streets. A homeless man and his girlfriend were involved in an argument and the man wanted to take his own life. I don’t know the names of the Community Policing Forum (CPF) medics, but they saved the man’s life.

It’s my personal opinion that, if the Krugersdorp Sector 3 CPF hadn’t arrived in time, the man would’ve died on the side of the road. After the incident, I asked myself how many lives would have been lost if the CPF wasn’t around, and if they didn’t do this amazing work for the community. How many family homes have they protected?

We forget that the medics and patrollers do all of this without any payment. The CPF has to pay for all the equipment and training with money from members and local businesses.

If we support the CPF in crime prevention and other community projects, they can only grow stronger. I ask that other companies and individuals do the same.

After seeing these guys in action yesterday, I know that I’ll always be okay when the CPF is around. Even hours after the incident I was thinking how I got used to having them around, and how lucky we are as a community. I even felt that I had to give some kind of award to every one of them as they are heroes.
