Key days

Questions like, “Where do you come from”, “Where am I going” and “What am I doing here”, should haunt us.

• Pastor Gerrit Mes of the AFM Pentecostal Fellowship writes:

I recently read a quote by Mark Twain that really got me thinking. In a world where so many people struggle with purpose, here could be your key to better days. Mark Twain wrote, “The most important two days of your life are the day you were born and the day you find out why”.

Questions like, “Where do you come from”, “Where am I going”, and “What am I doing here”, should haunt us.

Is it all about nine to five Monday to Friday, year to year, surviving life’s challenges? I looked around at my friends and acquaintances. The happiest people I know are people who have a reason to be here. That is what gets them up in the morning and through the challenges of the day. “I have a purpose.”

It may not be to save the world, but it may be as humble as caring in an uncaring world.

When God created you, he must have had a plan and purpose for your life. You and I will never be fully alive until the day we find out why we were born.

Surely there is more to life than money, power and pleasure.

Why not put this on your bucket list today. Look inside of yourself and around you and ask, “Why was I born?” It may be the first day of your new life.
