If you have ever been in a corner, back against the wall, looking down the barrel of a gun, you will understand the term, ‘panic blindness’. Things are out of your control and the future looks bleak. There is no light at the end of the tunnel. Your natural reaction is to panic.
Years ago I faced a really difficult time in my life. I looked at the situation from every angle and saw no hope. All my options were cul-de-sacs. Did I pray? Yes, all the time, day and night.
But because of my panic, I could not see God’s deliverance. What happened, you may ask. I got a miracle. No, my problem didn’t disappear but I saw an unlikely solution. It was as if God said, “Don’t worry, I’ve got this”. I cannot explain it, but I stopped panicking. What happened then was the miracle. All of a sudden, I could see options.
Maybe you are where I was. Maybe in your marriage, family or work you see no hope. Maybe you are facing a health issue you cannot control. Your panic decision may make things worse. God says, “Don’t worry, I’ve got this”.
Covid, civil unrest, economic hardships are real; the future may be more challenging than the past. But don’t panic. Stop, let go and you will see a picture of hope. If I panicked, this article would never have been. So don’t quit, God’s got it. The sun will shine tomorrow, God promises.
