Karate kids kick themselves into the SAs
Students from the Krugersdorp Karate Club will represent Gauteng at the upcoming SAJKA competition.
22 students from the Krugersdorp Karate Club (KKC) will compete in the upcoming South African SAJKA competition after bagging medals in the provincial round last month.
A group of karate kids from KKC participated in the Gauteng Provincial tournament at the Standard Bank Arena early in March.
The event saw over 1 200 karatekas taking part over the two days.
Out of the 26 KKC entries, 22 students walked away with provincial colours and medals.
These 22 students will be representing their club and province at the upcoming South African SAJKA competition to be hosted on 20 and 21 May.
The club took a total of 28 medals – six gold, 10 silver and 12 bronze medals.
Sensei Leon van Niekerk hopes the club will bring home a lot more medals from the competition.
“We wish all these students the best for the upcoming competition. Make Krugersdorp proud,” he concluded.
