Adventurous cyclists take to the streets
Cyclers had the opportunity to choose between a 20 kilometre route, a nine kilometre route for beginners and a five kilometre route for the juniors.
With a thirst for the unknown and an appetite for danger, they gathered yet again, eager to live life to the fullest.
They are the Kagiso Adventure Club, who hosted their second official cycling event – the Boni and Bike cycling event – on Sunday, 25 March.

The day saw cyclists from as young as eight years of age taking on one of the routes the day had to offer. Cyclists had the opportunity to choose between a 20 kilometre route, a nine kilometre route for beginners and a five kilometre route for the juniors.
Club members were also thrilled to have had the Mogale City Local Municipality Executive Mayor, Naga Patrick Lipudi, motivate them before the race.
“I prioritised this event because I find what they are doing very beneficial to the Kagiso community. I commend the club for creating such beautiful social harmony. I can see a very sufficient energy in the cyclists that are present here today,” councillor Patrick said.
“With this I want to thank the club for inviting me. I can see they are busy establishing themselves as an identity – an identity that will relate to many,”
According to club president, Karabo Moshoeshoe, and member, Doctor Mofokeng, they are honoured to have witnessed the tremendous growth the club has shown since its establishment in February last year.

Even though the club started out as a hiking club, they thought it best to integrate other sporting codes such as rock climbing, river rafting, obstacle courses and cycling into their activities.
They are now looking forward to their next hiking event, which will take place in Pretoria within the next few weeks. If you are interested in helping out or finding out more, feel free to contact Doctor on doctormofokeng@gmail.com.
