Lions 7s play their hearts out

The Lions U/13 7s players gave it their all this season, especially when they took on the other provinces' teams.

The U/13 teams from seven different provinces came together at Krugersdorp High School (KHS) recently to battle it out during two days of tough 7s rugby.

The Blue Bulls, Limpopo Bulls, Falcons, Griffons, Cheetahs, Lions and Pumas 7s teams faced off on the KHS rugby fields on 13 and 14 September.

Each team played five matches on the first day and two on the second day, producing spectacular rugby.

The Lions team finished in an overall first place in this provincial tournament after beating the Sharks by 10 points in the final. The final score was Lions 20 and Sharks 10.

After that the teams went to Bloemfontein for a national tournament where the Lions finished third overall. The Lions won against the South Western District (SWD) with a score of 21–12 in the national finals. The Sharks finished first overall and the Western Province second.
