Big goals, big dream come true
Kagiso has always had hidden gems in the form of young golden boys excelling in sports and current Krugersdorp High School learner, Thato Sibaya, is no different.
Thato Sibaya has always envisioned himself playing soccer at the highest level and being ranked alongside legends of the game such as Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Neymar Jr.

The boy from Kagiso is a hidden gem whose light is too bright to miss and he will soon have the chance to stamp his authority on the soccer field once and for all.

Last year in November, just as the 2022 World Cup began he received his first call-up for the U17 National Soccer Team after playing well for his boyhood club Mamelodi Sundowns. He is very grateful and excited as finally took his first steps toward fulfilling a dream he has had since he was seven years old. The position he plays is a left-back, one of the hardest positions in modern-day football which requires one to be very fit and physically strong.

He most recently received another call-up, this time for a training camp taking place on April 9. If he is successful he will be among 23 players selected to represent South Africa at the U17 Africa Cup of Nations football tournament taking place in Algeria from April 29.
This month, he is giving his energy to prepare himself for selection.
Remarkably and on top of it all, Thato is a Grade 10 Krugersdorp High School learner and hopes to make his community proud.
“They have helped me come so far,” Thato said proudly.
